My School Art Gallery

Engaging young people in learning through art. We provide a free service to primary schools in Northern Ireland to allow pupils to excel through creativity, while also providing schools with an opportunity to fundraise.

My School Art Gallery is founded on the principles of improving self-esteem, building confidence and encouraging creativity. We provide a service that aligns with the NI Primary Curriculum for Art and Design.

Building Self-esteem

Learning Through Art

The process of creating artwork for a My School Art Gallery exhibition, aligns with the statutory requirements of the NI Curriculum sections 2.3 and 3.3 for Art and Design for primary pupils. This includes giving the pupils an opportunity to showcase their learning!

Apart from building their self-esteem, art and design privides a useful method to learn new skills. For example; self-expression, problem solving, reflecting on the subject and colors they have chosen and discussing what they have enjoyed about the process of creating their art.

Art supports the development of self-awareness, and builds self-confidence. It motivates the young person to work towards goals whilst managing their time. Painting and creating is a relaxing yet exciting activity where the young person can immediately see how their time spent and work builds into a tangible outcome.

About us

My School Art Gallery was established in 2023 to organise art exhibitions in primary schools across Northern Ireland. These school exhibitions are used as fundraising opportunities to raise funds for things such as school supplies, equipment or educational trips. We organise the entire exhibition from start to finish and provide your teachers with canvas paper and instructions for pupils to use.

Once the artwork has been completed, we organise collection and then frame each piece individually before displaying it formally in an agreed space such as an assembly hall or foyer. The biggest benefit for you is that we do not require any financial contribution or staff assistance in preparing or setting up the event. Artwork is then sold to attendees of the exhibition at a price set by the school. After our costs are covered, your school receives the remaining amount to use as you wish.
